The WeWork community will expand to South Korea this year when we open our first office space in Seoul at Gangnam Station.
In Korea—and around the world—a shift is taking place in how and why people work. People want to find meaning in what they do by seeing ideas come to life, creating their own path, and benefiting from the power of working in a community.
Long a hub for major global companies, Seoul is now an up-and-coming city for entrepreneurs, startups, and creatives. It’s a destination for multinational companies looking for a base in Korea, well-known corporations, and now, WeWork members from Seoul and around the world.
Seoul will be able to access WeWork’s growing global community of over 50,000 people to make connections, exchange ideas, and source services. Whether a member needs a graphic designer down the hall, an office for a meeting in London, or advice from a startup already navigating the San Francisco tech scene, the WeWork community will be easily accessible to the city through our technology.
Gangnam is an important business district in the capital, home to some of the city’s best restaurants, shopping, and entertainment venues, and an easy commute via public transportation from all parts of the city. We couldn’t be more excited to come to Korea and to open this year in Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Sydney.
