Washington, D.C. — April 14, 2025 — WeWork, a leading global flexible space provider, today announced an update to its operations at 1201 Wilson Boulevard in Arlington, Virginia. In early 2026, the company will relocate its operations from its current premises to a newly designed workspace within the building, with the goal of offering an enhanced member experience.
“With our renewed commitment to continue operating at 1201 Wilson, WeWork is now well positioned to succeed at this building for many years to come,” said Kate Harper, Vice President of Real Estate at WeWork. “The rise of hybrid and distributed work has only increased the value of flexible workspace in the D.C. metropolitan area for companies and individuals alike. We look forward to offering our members this new, premium workplace to fuel their best work at one of the best buildings in the market.”
The new floors at 1201 Wilson Boulevard will be built to WeWork’s newest design and performance standards, offering enhanced acoustics, lighting, furniture, and more. This announcement comes as WeWork plans to invest more than $90 million on capital improvements to its other locations around the world in 2025.
WeWork first opened at 1201 Wilson Boulevard in 2019. Since then, the property has remained a key fixture of its portfolio across the Washington D.C. metropolitan area, particularly because of its location directly above the Rosslyn Metro and its proximity to the District.
With the continued popularity of hybrid work schedules, WeWork has seen increased demand from those seeking turnkey, flexible workspace outside of downtown D.C. In fact, bookings for WeWork All Access, the company’s monthly membership to coworking space around the world, have increased 30% at its Northern Virginia locations from November 2024 to March 2025.
