Over the past few months, Miguel and I have been fortunate to visit many countries around the world. What inspired us most was that despite cultural differences, at the end of the day we are all one, and we all want the same thing. We want to pursue our passions, be part of something greater than ourselves, and create our life’s work.
Today we are adding a new partner to the WeWork family through a funding round led by Legend Holdings and Hony Capital. Both Legend and Hony, along with existing shareholders and new partners, are investing significant capital in our company.
“Not only does WeWork have one of the largest addressable markets I have ever seen, but the quality of its execution and fit for the Chinese culture is unparalleled,” said Hony Capital CEO John Zhao. “Our investment in WeWork is both strategic and obvious.”
As we expand into new countries, new cities, and new neighborhoods, our spaces are not only platforms for our members, but also for the communities that surround them. This year, our members have already created thousands of new jobs and businesses empowering people around the world to take ownership of their lives.
We started WeWork to support small businesses and entrepreneurs, but our intention since the beginning has always been more holistic. WeWork is a movement driven by about 50,000 pioneers around the world who believe in a new way of life. We are forever indebted to these pioneers who are proof that in challenging times, doing the right thing and being part of a greater WE works.
