New York, NY – May 3, 2023 – WeWork (NYSE: WE), the leading global flexible space provider, and Business France, a government agency with the mission to foster business relations of France worldwide, today announced a partnership to establish WeWork as a space provider for Business France’s trade missions in North America.
Designed to help support the growth of French companies in the United States and Canada, this partnership is the first of its kind for WeWork and Business France. As the government agency’s space provider, WeWork will supply flexible space for Business France’s North American trade missions to help foster innovation and growth among French companies. Each year, Business France North America hosts approximately 65 trade missions, during which French companies gain exposure to industries, make connections and learn about resources available for expanding their businesses to the United States and Canada.
The partnership kicked off in January with Business France North America’s trade mission event during NRF 2023, which helped more than 100 French entrepreneurs find new connections in the WeWork space.
By partnering with Business France, WeWork aims to support and further the strong economic partnership enjoyed by France and the United States; according to the 2022 Economic Report issued by the Embassy of France in the United States:
- French and American companies invested close to US $406 billion in each other’s countries in 2021
- When French companies invest abroad, their prime destination is the United States
- French investment in the United States sustains around 750,000 jobs
“As an organization with a mission to champion the success of French companies around the world, Business France knows that hosting our trade missions at WeWork locations is a natural fit,” said Frédéric Rossi, COO Business France North America. “Through this partnership with WeWork, we look forward to showcasing the value that flexible space can bring to a growing company through turnkey spaces that enable rapid expansion in new markets and networking opportunities within their community.”
“WeWork is excited to support Business France in their mission to help French companies grow and succeed,” said Melinda Holland, President and COO of the Americas, WeWork. “As a company with a mission to connect a global community, WeWork is proud to support businesses around the world in all stages of their growth by providing turnkey spaces that help allow companies to rapidly expand into new markets while fostering new connections and innovation.”
