WeWork and 575 Lexington Avenue Open New Building-Wide Flexible Work Lounge

New York, NY – July 10, 2024 – WeWork, the leading global flexible space provider, today announced a new partnership with the ownership of 575 Lexington Avenue, represented by George Comfort & Sons. WeWork will convert its 14th floor coworking space into its first flexible work lounge, accessible to both its members and other tenants in the Class-A office tower, while also continuing as a tenant at the Midtown East location.

Built for the era of flexible work and complete with collaboration areas, meeting rooms, an outdoor terrace and complimentary barista bar, the lounge aims to satisfy growing demand for amenity-driven workspaces. Starting July 8, all building tenants at 575 Lexington Avenue will have complimentary access to the nearly 15,000-square-foot lounge and will receive a monthly events calendar of WeWork’s curated networking and social programming.

“We’re excited to deepen our partnership with 575 Lexington Avenue and to welcome their tenants into the WeWork community,” said Whitney Anderson, Senior Director of Real Estate at WeWork. “Our workspace at this location is designed to foster new connections and flexible workstyles, two must-haves in today’s world of work. We’re confident that with this new partnership, WeWork will bring value to the building, its tenants and our members.”

George Comfort & Sons President and CEO Peter S. Duncan said: “Today’s workforce is drawn to buildings that offer flexible workspaces and exceptional service, all in a convenient and accessible location. The WeWork-operated amenity space will help enhance the daily experience of our current tenant base and drive future demand from companies in the market for a high-quality office environment.”

After reshaping its global portfolio, WeWork has incorporated more alternative lease structures to increase the value it delivers to its members and landlords. Through such partnerships, owners of real estate can better meet growing demand for office amenities and flexible work solutions, providing tenants with a differentiated workplace experience and remaining competitive in today’s office market.

Located in the heart of Manhattan’s vibrant Plaza District, 575 Lexington Avenue is a 35-story, 745,000-square-foot office tower surrounded by Midtown’s corporate headquarters, fine restaurants and vast retail options. Transportation is easily accessible, with Grand Central Terminal a few short blocks away and three subway lines just around the corner.
