London, United Kingdom – April 16, 2024 – WeWork, a leading flexible workspace provider, announced today it secured a significant investment to refurbish its iconic location at WeWork 16 Great Chapel Street in the heart of Soho, London. The investment will be used to complete a full fit-out of the space that first opened in 2016, and will offer an upgraded dynamic workspace, expertly designed to meet the needs of the modern worker.
Blending hospitality and workplace design, with a focus on sustainability, and leveraging insights from WeWork’s Global Office Trends Report, the seven-storey space will offer private offices, lounges, and conference rooms designed for collaboration. Alongside this will be phone booths and dedicated quiet space for heads-down tasks. Each floor will be fitted with warm oak, high-gloss finishes and recycled materials to create a sophisticated aesthetic that members feel inspired to work from. Exciting new amenities will include a barista bar and a wellness room.
Peter Greenspan, Global Head of Real Estate, WeWork says “We’re thrilled to be revamping this iconic location in the heart of Soho. This significant investment reaffirms our commitment to optimizing our portfolio to provide our members with the signature experience they expect for the long term. With increasing appetite for scalable, well-designed space in prime locations, WeWork continues to be a first choice for forward-thinking businesses implementing progressive workplace strategies. We look forward to re-opening our doors to members this May.”
A leading AI startup will be taking two full floors at the location representing 34% of the location’s desk occupancy. Their new space will feature dynamic workspaces and a private terrace to host its UK workforce, and will be supported by WeWork Workplace that will enable its employees to book desks in advance and next to their colleagues to help maximize their time spent in the office.
