As a global provider of flexible workspace solutions, we serve certain natural persons residing in the State of California (each, a “consumer”). This Supplemental Privacy Notice for California Residents (“California Notice”) supplements the information contained in WeWork’s Global Privacy Policy and applies solely to consumers who reside in California. As required by the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act of 2020 (collectively, the “CCPA”), this California Notice is intended to provide certain disclosures about our handling of California consumers’ personal information and provide additional information with regard to the rights that California consumers have with respect to their personal information.
When we use the term “personal information” in this California Notice, we are using that term as the CCPA defines it, which the CCPA generally defines “personal information” as information that identifies, relates to, describes, is capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular consumer or household. However, personal information does not include publicly available, de-identified or aggregate consumer information (which are all defined in CCPA). Capitalized terms used but not defined in this California Notice shall have the meaning ascribed thereto in WeWork’s Global Privacy Policy.
Please note, this California Notice does not apply to personal information that we process as a service provider on behalf of our customers in connection with the WeWork Workplace Platform.
In Section 3: “Personal Data We Collect” in our Global Privacy Policy, we describe certain categories and specific pieces of personal information we may collect; however, under the CCPA, we are required to provide this information using specific categories. The categories of personal information (as enumerated in the CCPA) that we may collect are as described in the table below:

In limited circumstances, we may also collect categories of personal information that may be considered sensitive personal information. These categories are further described in Section 3: “Personal Data We Collect” in our Global Privacy Policy.
We may use the categories of personal information listed above to operate, manage and maintain our business, to provide our products and services, for vendor management purposes and to accomplish our business purposes and objectives, including, for example, using personal information to develop, improve and maintain our products and services; personalize, advertise and market our products and services; conduct research, analytics, and data analysis; maintain our offices and infrastructure; undertake quality and safety assurance measures; conduct risk and security control and monitoring; detect and prevent fraud; perform identity verification; perform accounting, audit, and other internal functions, such as internal investigations; comply with law, legal process, and internal policies; maintain records; exercise and defend legal claims and for the purposes as further described in Section 5: “Purposes For Which We Process Your Personal Data and the Legal Bases on Which We Rely” in our Global Privacy Policy. In addition, we may use the categories of personal information for certain business purposes (as specified in the CCPA) as described in the table below. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal data for any purpose not permitted by the CCPA.

We keep your personal information to enable your continued use of our products and services, for as long as it is required in order to fulfill the relevant purposes described in WeWork’s Global Privacy Policy, as permitted or as may be required by law, or as otherwise communicated to you. Our retention practices are further described in Section 8: “Retention of Personal Data” in our Global Privacy Policy.

As is common practice among companies that operate online, we may share limited personal information with certain third parties, including non-affiliated Advertising Partners for purposes of targeting advertisements on non-WeWork websites, applications and services. In addition, we may allow certain Advertising Partners to collect personal information from our websites and services using cookies, web beacons, mobile advertising identifiers and other technologies. These Advertising Partners may use this information to display online advertisements tailored to your interests and preferences across your browsers and devices and to conduct ad campaign measurement and website analytics. Any personal information we may have shared for the purpose of cross-context behavioral advertising, as that term is defined by the CCPA, is limited to:
Identifiers (i.e., cookies, web beacons, mobile advertising identifiers and other technologies; not your name or other information that directly identifies you).

In the preceding 12 months, we have not “sold” any personal information of consumers, as that term is defined under the CCPA. Furthermore, we do not knowingly sell or share personal information (including sensitive personal information) of individuals under 16 years of age. As a California resident, you may have the rights listed below in relation to personal information that we have collected about you. However, these rights are not absolute, and in certain cases, we may decline your request as permitted by law. These rights may include:
Right to Know. You have a right to request the following information about our collection, use and disclosure of your personal information over the prior 12 months, and ask that we provide you with a copy of the following:
categories of and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, sold or shared about you;
categories of sources from which we collect personal information;
the business of commercial purposes for collecting personal information;
categories of third parties to whom the personal information was disclosed for a business purpose; and
categories of personal information disclosed about you for a business purpose.
Right to Correct. You have a right to request that we correct inaccurate personal information maintained about you.
Right to Delete. You have a right to request that we delete personal information, subject to certain exceptions.
Right to Opt out of Selling or Sharing. You have the right to direct a business that sells or shares personal information about you to third parties to stop doing so.
Right to Restrict Use of Sensitive Personal Information. You have a right to request that we limit our processing of sensitive personal information under certain circumstances.
Right to Non-Discrimination. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your rights under the CCPA.
You may exercise your rights by completing our Privacy Webform or by calling our toll-free number at 888-914-9661 (pin: 767325). To protect your privacy and maintain security, we may take steps to verify your identity before complying with your request, and may decline your request if we are unable to verify your identity. To verify your identity, we may collect information such as your email address, government issued ID or date of birth, before providing a substantive response to the request.
You can request to opt-out of the sale or sharing of your personal information by clicking on the “Cookies Settings” link in the footer of the webpage. For more information on how to manage the use of cookies, targeted online advertising and other tracking technologies, please refer to Section 7 [How to Manage Cookies, Targeted Online Advertising and Other Tracking Technologies?] in our Cookie Policy. In addition to using the Cookies Settings preference center, in many cases you may opt-out from the collection of cookies by managing your cookie settings at the browser and/or device level.
Generally, if you are a California resident, you may designate an authorized agent to make a request to access or a request to delete on your behalf. To do so, you must: (1) provide that authorized agent written and signed permission to submit such a request; and (2) verify your own identity directly with us. Please note, we may deny a request from an authorized agent that does not submit proof that they have been authorized by you to act on your behalf. We will respond to your authorized agent's request if they submit proof that they are registered with the California Secretary of State to be able to act on your behalf, or submit evidence you have provided them with power of attorney pursuant to California Probate Code section 4121-4130. We may deny requests from authorized agents who do not submit proof that they have been authorized by you to act on their behalf, or are unable to verify their identity.
Under California Civil Code Section 1798.83, California residents with an established business relationship with us can request information once a year about sharing their personal information with third parties for the third parties' direct marketing purposes. We do not share personal information with third parties for their direct marketing purposes.
