Robin AI

Founded in 2019, Robin AI is a legal AI company on a mission to make contracts faster, simpler, and more accessible. From the start, the team at Robin AI recognised that both individuals and companies often faced an unfair disadvantage when securing space with a landlord, where complex contracts and unclear processes frequently led to costly disputes, and for businesses, created unnecessary barriers to growth.

“We wanted to build something that every person – particularly those not familiar with legal terms – as well as businesses of all sizes could quickly review and understand contracts,” says Richard Robinson, CEO and co-founder at RobinAI.

Today, Robin AI is helping thousands of companies across the globe streamline their legal processes—including 13 of the Fortune 500.

Bringing legal expertise to the masses

Contracts are often long, complicated, and riddled with legal jargon. Robin AI’s advanced technology simplifies contracts using an AI legal assistant that can summarise documents into key bullet points, identify important terms, and even draft clauses. But the goal isn’t to replace human or even legal expertise—it’s to enhance it.

“We take a “human-in-the-loop” approach has delivered tangible impact; for example, a biotech customer was hacked and needed help understanding their obligations to customers worldwide. Robin AI worked with them over a weekend, saving the company £2 million ($2.6 million).

Amplifying their impact by scaling their office space

Based in London, Robin AI joined WeWork in 2020 in a private office with just six desks. Since then, the company has been on a rapid growth trajectory. For Liane Rainbow, VP of People at Robin AI, impressive growth was clear from day one. Her first challenge as VP was launching office space in Singapore, Australia, and Northern Ireland; a clear indication of how quickly the company was scaling.

“As a fast-moving tech company, we needed a workspace solution that could grow with us,” says Lukoszová. “We don’t have time to tour real estate every few months when we need to expand. With WeWork, we can arrive at a new office in a completely different country and trust that everything will be the same standard we’re used to. We also have the ability to scale our space within one location, meaning we can hire new talent without having to consistently move locations.”

Rainbow agrees. “Having WeWork as a consistent partner to move, expand, and grow into new offices and locations has made our life much easier and allows us to scale faster.”

Today, Robin AI has grown to 200 people across London, New York, Northern Ireland, Australia and Singapore, and continues to expand.

Fueling innovation with diverse, global talent

Scaling offices across the globe also means greater access to top talent, which is key for Robin AI; a company that prioritises diversity and curiosity. “We want to build and sell products to customers from all parts of the economy and the globe, and we make a real effort to build teams that also reflect that. Having a global partner like WeWork helps us do that,” says CEO and co-founder Richard Robinson.

Wherever employees are in the world, Robin AI follows a hybrid model, with employees in the WeWork offices at least three days a week, plus using the space for company-wide meetings and regular social events. “We strongly believe in the value of team building and serendipitous interactions; things that are much harder to achieve when communication is limited to Slack and email,” shares Karolina Lukoszová, VP of Legal Engineering at Robin AI.

While their team is spread across multiple countries, Robin AI has worked hard to build a collaborative culture. “We have a culture where collaboration is incredibly important, and our workspaces have to be able to achieve, complement, and encourage that, which WeWork helps us do,” says Liane Rainbow, VP of People at Robin AI.

As a result, their team loves it, and their clients take them seriously.

Building credibility from their London office

“When you walk into our London office, which is the entire 4th floor of 10 Devonshire Square, you immediately think: I’m at the headquarters of a serious tech company,” says Robinson. Realising they could lease an entire floor at WeWork made the decision to continue partnering much easier for the team.

“When you think big, you can’t be limited by space. That’s why we chose WeWork as our office solution, to handle all of our space and operations, so we can really focus on the next big thing,” says Rainbow.

Inside the London office, Robin AI engages with the broader WeWork community. From going to events on the 5th floor and playing pool, to grabbing a coffee from the barista, Robin AI employees are able to make connections with like-minded individuals outside of the team, helping to take their workplace experience to the next level.

On their own private floor, Robin AI has customised the design and layout to optimise how they collaborate and innovate. From quiet corners and phone booths for heads-down tasks, taking phone calls and sorting through inboxes, to larger conference rooms and informal seating spots for larger get togethers, the team is able to harness the dynamism of the space to achieve their mission of making the legal industry accessible and understandable through AI technology.

“WeWork is where we make our vision a reality,” says Lukoszová.
